1. Organizational Status
We Are Americans Foundation (“the Foundation”) is a nonprofit corporation recognized as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Employer Identification Number 42-4404250. The Foundation’s tax exempt status may be independently verified through the Internal Revenue Service Tax Exempt Organization Search.
The Foundation is a private organization. It is not a federal, state, county, municipal or tribal government agency; not a department, division, contractor, grantee or instrumentality of any government; and not authorized to act on behalf of any government. No content on this website, and no statement made at a workshop, should be construed as an official communication of any governmental body. Any reference to a government agency, statute, regulation, court decision or official form is made for educational purposes only and does not imply affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement by that agency or body.
2. Nonpartisan Status and Political Activity
As an organization described in section 501(c)(3), the Foundation is prohibited by federal law from participating or intervening in any political campaign on behalf of, or in opposition to, any candidate for public office. The Foundation observes that prohibition as a matter of law and as a matter of policy.
Accordingly, the Foundation does not endorse, oppose, rate or rank any candidate, political party, political committee or campaign; does not make contributions or expenditures in connection with any election; and does not adopt positions on partisan legislation. Where a matter of public policy is genuinely disputed, the Foundation’s practice is to describe the dispute and identify the principal positions taken by others, without advocating for any of them.
Any opinion expressed by a presenter, volunteer, attendee or third party at a Foundation workshop is that individual’s own and is not attributable to the Foundation.
3. No Legal, Financial, Tax or Professional Advice
All content provided by the Foundation, whether published on this website, distributed in printed form, or presented orally at a workshop, is general educational information about the structure and operation of government in the United States. It is not legal advice, financial advice, tax advice, or professional advice of any other kind, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional regarding your particular circumstances.
No attorney-client relationship, fiduciary relationship, or other professional relationship is created between you and the Foundation, or between you and any officer, director, employee, volunteer or presenter of the Foundation, by reason of your accessing this website, communicating with the Foundation, or attending a workshop.
The Foundation does not represent individuals, does not review individual documents, and does not evaluate, advise on or take a position regarding any person’s individual legal matter. If you have a legal question concerning your own circumstances, you should consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
4. Accuracy, Currency and Jurisdictional Variation
The Foundation makes reasonable efforts to ensure that its content is accurate at the time of publication and identifies the sources on which it relies and the date on which each page was last reviewed. Nevertheless, law, regulation, agency procedure, deadlines, fees and government contact information change frequently and without notice.
Content is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non infringement. The Foundation does not warrant that any content is current, complete or applicable to your situation.
Much of what is described here is governed by state or local law and varies materially by jurisdiction. Descriptions of local government structure, election procedure, court procedure, taxation and public meeting rules are general and may not describe the rules that apply where you live. You should verify any fact on which you intend to rely directly with the responsible government office or with a licensed professional.

This website does not present any form, field or other interface for the submission of personal information, and no account is required to access any page. The Foundation does not sell, rent, license or otherwise transfer personal information to third parties. Information incidentally received by the Foundation, such as the content of an email a person chooses to send, is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Self assessment tools published on this website, including the Civic Coach, operate entirely within the user’s own browser. Responses and results are not transmitted to the Foundation, are not stored by the Foundation, and are not retained after the page is closed or reloaded.

A host organization is responsible for the venue, for compliance with applicable safety and accessibility requirements at that venue, and for any communications it issues about the workshop. The Foundation is not responsible for statements made about the Foundation or its content by a host organization or by any third party.
The Foundation does not record workshops or photograph attendees except where the host organization arranges it and the persons appearing have consented. The Foundation reserves the right to decline or discontinue a workshop that it determines cannot be conducted consistently with its nonpartisan obligations or with the safety of attendees.
7. Third Party Content and External Links

Content may not be used in a manner that misrepresents its source, that suggests the Foundation endorses a candidate, party, product or service, that alters a factual statement or citation in a way that changes its meaning, or that presents the content as an official government publication.
10. Changes to This Disclaimer
The Foundation may revise this disclaimer at any time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of this website after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Contact
